jMAN jR was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He grew up however, in Montgomery, AL. In Montgomery he won numerous awards and set school music records everywhere he went, including becoming memorialized in the halls of his jr. high school as a guitar legend. After completing the 3 year guitar course in an unprecedented 2 years, jMAN held a concert for the entire school and signed autographs afterwards. A commerative plaque still hangs in the school today. jMAN jR also learned to play nearly a dozen instruments before finishing high school. He achieved another unprecedented feat by winning on 4 different instruments in a single competition.After high school, jMAN jR moved to Los Angeles, and he's been on a tear ever since, traveling the country and performing over 100 shows a year in middle schools, high schools, colleges, clubs, churches, festivals, stadiums and more. Most recently he performed at the NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA, the largest musical products showcase in the United States. His versatile style has also allowed him to share the stage with the Harlem Gospel Choir, Linda Hopkins, Shirley Caesar, Deuce Lubin, Debra Laws, Johnny Britt, Soulja Boy, Raz B, and more. jMAN jR is currently performing periodically at Staples Center with The Los Angeles Laker Band. There he performs for crowds of 18,000+. jMAN jR was also a winner on the national reality series America's Hot Musician as an instrumental performer, and he can also be seen in the music video of Atlantic Records singer Laura Izibor and in the independent film WWJD. jMAN jR was also the theme song producer and music supervisor for a popular online internet drama called Fine Church Girls. And, his rap skills in an online video for the cell research company Invitrogen has boasted over a quater of a million views on Youtube.
